Foxloft Studios
Jewelry/Art/Crafts: illustrations, tribal designs, and rich painting…
A
number of people get my mate and I confused. We’re both getting on toward middle-aged guys with glasses, loud shirts, glasses, curly ponytails, and names that begin with “J.” So in order to keep us distinct, we’ve both started wearing Foxloft Studio pendants–he’s got a hyena, I’ve got a chihuahua…she hasn’t made a Xolo design yet. I’m sure this will help everyone tell us apart.
I don’t know if it’s true across the fandom, but down in Texas, a your-species-here pendant from Foxloft is almost as sure a furry marker as a fursuit, a badge, or a mild obsession with foxes. She’s got a wide range of designs, but it wasn’t until I saw Foxfeather Zenkova’s table at a con that I got a sense for the range of her work. Besides the pendants, she’s also got paintings that place up there with the furry greats, like a slightly cartoonier member of the Blotch-Goldenwolf-Dark Natasha tribe. Her stained glass style pieces are charming, celtic-inspired designs. If you check Foxfeather’s FA Gallery, she does badges (of course),illustration, costume pieces, some impressive masks and leatherwork, and a host of other neat stuff–way too much diversity for one artist! Neither here nor there, I’m a fan, needless to say.
All that being said, it’s interesting that Foxfeather’s Patreon page never really got a lot of traction, it’s been around for a good six months but hasn’t ticked over the $100 marker. Why? Hard to say. Maybe she hasn’t passed the hat around enough–or maybe “Stuff” just doesn’t move like graphic art? One of those little Patreon mysteries.
